Spotlight On: Royal Princess Oud
Without a doubt, the most extraordinary scents can be traced to a moment in time. And for Royal Princess Oud, the woody floral favorite, created in 2015 by Olivier Creed – that time was especially significant for the House of Creed. Its origins can be traced to Creed’s roots in fashion, to a time—1760, to be exact—when it supplied the English Court with custom tailored clothing and scented leather gloves. These beginnings led the way to commissioned fragrances and the rest, as they say, is history.
So how does one capture a moment in time? Olivier Creed immersed himself in over twenty volumes of original sketch books from the House of Creed archives. This study led to the creation of Royal Princess Oud – a scent that fans call seductive and captivating, yet glamorously modern. Perfectly balanced, the scent kicks off with a burst of Silician bergamot, rose and sweet violet. This fresh mix gives away to notes of jasmine, vanilla, patchouli and iris from Tuscany. And finally, it all dries down to its signature woodiness, with Benzoin Siam, a sweet gum resin from Thailand, and Mysore sandalwood, extracted from the “royal tree” in India. A scent befitting for a woman of passion.
