Paris offers an endless array of things to experience, eat, and explore; one could spend a lifetime there and never fully see the city. Perhaps the most luxurious thing to do in Paris is to simply walk its streets and try to experience it through the eyes of a Parisian. Strolling the Seine, lounging in Jardin du Luxembourg, and perusing markets may sound like the cliché we all imagine Paris to be, but the truth of it it, this is really what life in Paris is like.
On Sundays, wander the Marché Bastille for cheese, bread, flowers, and fresh fruits then stroll to the Seine for a picnic. Spend too much time with a coffee and a good book to explore all the hidden corners of Luxembourg Garden. Wake up at sunrise, pick up a warm pain au chocolat and fresh orange juice at Pain Pain in Montmartre to watch the sun illuminate the city from the view at Sacre Coeur.
If you’re interested in exploring museums beyond the Louvre, consider the Rodin, Picasso, our Bourdelle and take a deeper dive with some of Paris’ most beloved artists.
Stay
To truly live like a local, we might suggest staying in one of the many Haussmann-style apartments available for rent on sites such as Airbnb, but if hotels are your preference, we love Hotel des Grands Boulevards in the heart of the Right Bank. With is classically French style and modern amenities, you’re just steps in any direction from all Paris has to offer.
Eat
The beauty of dining in Paris is that you can’t really go wrong with any of its endless options. Whether you’re looking for a simple baguette sandwich or a 5-star experience, gastronomy and the French go hand-in-hand. For classic Parisian dishes, try La Crêpe Dentelle where you’ll be met with charming red and white checked cloths, with more crepe options than one ever thought possible. Alternatively, consider Entrecote, where the only item on the menu is steak frites and the only decisions you have to make are which wine you’d like to drink and whether or not you have room for dessert. The famed Les Deux Magots or Cafe de Flore can’t be missed for an afternoon coffee and people watching. If you’re looking for something a bit out of the norm, try Bambou, a renowned thai restaurant in the second arrondissement with a lush outdoor patio for cocktails, velvet sofas, and tables lit by candelabras
How to Wear It: Love in White and Love in Black
Two fragrances, two versions of the same city. Love in White evokes strolls in Paris’ endless gardens with notes of French daffodil and fresh iris. Wear it in the daytime and absorb the Parisian light while taking in the city’s sites, sounds and people for a fresh, floral feel.
Love in Black is the embodiment of the Parisian woman. Mysterious, worldly, and more often than not, found wearing a chic black dress. Take this fragrance out for a night on the town, and give way to its confident notes of violet, cedar, and blackcurrant. Get lost in its spicy warmth, and get in touch with your inner Parisian.
When your Parisian rendezvous comes to an end, simply spritz yourself with either of these iconic scents and be transported back to the gardens, museums, and nightlife.
